Fire Island is a special place – bustling in the summer months, yet remote and secluded nine months out of the year. Both extremes pose unique challenges for the resident creatures. Fire Island Animal Welfare Society is dedicated to the care and wellbeing of free roaming animals resident to Fire Island, NY. Our focus concentrates on the community of Ocean Beach and neighboring western communities of Corneille Estates, Summer Club, and Robbins Rest. We are the only animal rescue organization providing hands-on and year-round attention exclusively to this area. With the gracious support of donor contributions, as well as a small core group of dedicated volunteers, Fire Island Animal Welfare Society provides services that include feeding, medical care, boarding, trap-neuter-release, and adoption placement. Please consider giving – Your support is essential to our mission!
